Farmers Institute and Cooking School Set for December
Great plans are underway for the Farmers Institute and Cooking School to be held December 11 and 12 in the city. H. G. Griswold conducts the institute with Miss Nellie Maxwell in charge of the cooking school. The Commercial Club will organize arrangements while the Wednesday Evening Study Club runs the cooking school. Lectures on farming gardening and fruit growing plus cooking are planned for two days. Pedersons Impress as Stage Artists at Majestic
Ashland readers learn Miss and Mr. Pederson of Washburn presented an unusually high musical night at the Majestic theater last evening. Their duet for two violins opened with operatic airs arranged by Mr. Pederson and drew brilliancy, while Miss Pederson’s mezzo soprano voice shone in The Rosary amid nerves affecting enunciation. Mr. Pederson offered a fiery Concert Mazurka to showcase his technique with Park Dolan of this city assisting on piano.

Wisconsin hunter claims $20 bounty for timber wolf
Frank Schweitzer of Roberts Wisconsin visited Eau Claire Lakes Bayfield county last week to collect a bounty on a large timber wolf he killed while deer hunting. The wolf weighed about 80 pounds and Schweitzer will receive twenty dollars for the scalp.

Sheridan injured by accidental gun discharge during hunt
James A. Sheridan received a bullet wound to the heel when a hammerless gun in his lap discharged as he lifted a window curtain. The accident occurred near the Flag River while hunting with friends, with medical aid sought from Dr. Tarter and transport to Iron River before returning home. he is expected to recover in a few weeks.

North Wisconsin Land Owners Get New Land Reclamation Bonds
The legislature passed a measure enabling counties to issue special improvement bonds to reclaim cut over lands for farming. A county reclamation board will supervise loans up to 50 percent of land value with five twenty year terms, minimums of $100 and maximums of $2000, secured by mortgages.
