Steel Bridges Underway Over Fish Creek Head of the Bay
The Hennepin Bridge Company of Minneapolis has begun work to install new steel bridges across Fish Creek at the head of the bay. A superintendent is on site and construction will start next week with completion expected by next spring. The old wooden bridge is closed and local traffic must detour via Ashland Junction until completion.

Farmers Institute and Cooking School Set for December in Washburn

More Bones Found In Mason Area Skeleton Mystery Deepens
Coroner Amos M. Hansen received a call Friday about more bones found by Mil ton Blum and J R Welty near Pike River on the Duluth South Shore rail line. The bones and clothing are parts of last week’s skeleton, including ribs a foot and a hand, with fifteen gashes suggesting murder in Bayfield county. Identity remains unknown.
