Hoken Lurid of Iron River attends Circuit Court as juror in this city. He, with two Iron Riverites, attempted a return trip by auto last Friday but retreated here first. Contract Let for Big Bridge Over Union River
Bayfield County road committee opened bids for a Union River bridge on the Washburn Bayfield road. Forsythe Construction Co of Cameron Wis won the $7,200 award plus $35 per cubic yard for concrete with a $30 deduction, over Worden Allen and Guaranty Construction bids. The steel reinforced bridge will be 50 feet long and 20 feet wide and construction should start soon if county funds are approved at the November meeting and finished by spring.
