John Miller a longtime Bayfield County woodman and logging figure died suddenly at the St James hotel in Bayfield last Thursday. His body was held for several days to locate relatives but none could be found and the funeral was held on Monday.

Mrs Emma Sundstrom Nelson, formerly of this city, died of heart trouble in Bayfield on Wednesday November 3. She was 53. Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at the Swedish church in Bayfield. She was well known in Washburn.

Drowned Huntsman Frank Kenna in Yellow River near Spooner
Frank Kenna a well known traveling salesman for the Patrick company of Duluth, from Ashland, drowned Tuesday morning while duck hunting on Yellow river near Spooner. In his boat with Ashland hunter Lew Anderson, both wore heavy coats and belts. Kenna disappeared as Anderson neared shore. Body recovered after hours. Kenna well known locally and his death a shock to friends.
