A group of St Paul business men purchased a large tract north of the city and plan to clear and plant it entirely with fruit trees. They chose the Washburn district near Chequamegon bay for its favorable climate and minimal frost risk. The project aims to grow apples cherries and plums.
The De Laney building hosts a new post office opening for regular business at the usual hour on Easter Sunday. It is among the best equipped for a town of its size, with patrons expressing great satisfaction. The move was driven largely by the efforts of Postmaster Nelson.

The St. Louis Catholic church choir will stage a play at the Opera House next Thursday evening April 7 to raise funds for a new Reed Organ. Nels Lee announces candidacy for reelection as City Treasurer promising continued service. The Middlebrook Summer resort, owned by Jerry Coats, was destroyed by fire last week with unknown cause. Coats had about 1000 dollars in insurance.
The F. J. Meehan company adds a new branch to its furniture business and begins erection of an undertaking parlor and operating room with a 16 by 32 feet space and 10 foot ceiling. Amos M. Hansen oversees the department. The casket room features polished hardwood floors and white enameled steel walls and ceiling, with electric lighting day and night. The operating room will be sanitary with cement floors and well ventilated.
The undertaking department will be led by Amos M. Hansen of this city. He is a Barnes School graduate in Anatomy Sanitary Science and Embalming and holds a State Embalmers license. He has ample experience and will have a lady assistant if needed. Work is underway and the parlor should open in a week or ten days with a complete line of caskets and outfits kept in stock.
