Calder seeks reelection for Bayfield municipal judge
George A. Calder of the First Municipal Court of Bayfield county announces his candidacy to succeed himself in the election on the first Tuesday in April. Nomination papers are circulating countywide, with likely no opposition. Calder was appointed by Governor McGovern to fill the unexpired term of A M Warden and has served just over three months.

Temperance Rally for Scandinavian People Planned at Union Hall
Next Monday evening a temperance rally will be held at Union Hall for Scandinavian people with an address by a speaker from the Grand Lodge of the I U G T. The meeting is open and all Scandinavian residents are invited to attend. Pioneer Bayfield Woman Lucy Cruttenden Dies in Ohio
Mrs Lucy F Cruttenden of Bayfield died last Saturday at Granville Ohio after a lingering illness. She was an early Bayfield settler after the Civil War era. Her husband the late Col J D Cruttenden long served as county clerk of Bayfield County. The family was widely known in the region.

Neighbors Build New Home After Ashland Fire
A. H. Hosmer of Nash watched his house burn Saturday on his milk route in Ashland. Neighbors quickly gathered Sunday and rushed a new 12 by 16 shed and addition, creating a kitchen living room and three bedrooms by night. Hosmer lost about $1000 with $500 insured, and praised the Nash spirit.

Funeral for John Livingst on held in city
The funeral of John Livingston, formerly of this city and lately in Duluth, was held Monday at noon with interment in Woodland City Cemetery.
