Northern Pacific adjusts Washburn train times for travelers

The train departs Washburn at 7 15 am connects in Iron River to Duluth arriving 11 15 am and Duluth to Twin Cities at 1 55 pm. Death of Fred Danniger in Alaska Coast Drowning
Word reaches Cumberland of the drowning death of Fred Danniger off the Alaska coast. He had moved to Alaska two years earlier for gold fields and was appointed government lighthouse keeper on a small island. On December 21 he and colleague William Boutin sailed to mail a Christmas letter, were not seen again, and are presumed drowned as a heavy sea hid any trace. Mrs Boutin, left on the island, later hailed a passing boat and prepared to return to Bayfield Wisconsin.
