Socialists Back La Follette in Wisconsin Fight

The Socialist Party of Wisconsin adopted a resolution at its state convention opposing a United States Senate candidate against Robert M. La Follette. The vote was 59 to 47 with 18 absentees. The party criticized La Follette’s progressive record and signaled possible cooperation with his forces, while debates raged over endorsing him or other candidates. Separately, Bayfield vs Washburn baseball drew a 1–0 finish with strong pitching and flawless defense, Packard striking out 14 for Bayfield and Pu fall fanning 7 for Washburn.

Obituary: John Guskie Passes After Two-Year Illness

John Guskie of Washington avenue road near Du Pont Park died Sunday after a two year illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Catholic church conducted by Fr Borucki. Interment followed at Calvary cemetery. He leaves a wife and eight children, the youngest a baby, with community sympathy offered.

Rowe Sampson Duo Wed in Washburn with Family Presence

Misa Hilda Howe daughter of Ole Rowe and Gustave Sampson were married Wednesday June 21 in Engoe with Rev Chr Christiansen officiating. The ceremony had only immediate relatives and a synod reception followed. The couple will reside in Washburn Vedahl residence. Both are noted Washburn residents with broad circles of friends. Miss Viola Arseneau has been ill with tonsillitis.

Car Skids On Slippery Road Near Tank Lake Injuring Passenger

A Drummond driven auto carrying Ruth Berge and Mildred Benson skidded on clay roads near Tank Lake on Route 24 early Monday. Benson suffered a sprained ankle after being thrown from the car. other occupants were unharmed and Benson received medical care in Drummond.

Louis Larson 62 residing at 802 West Pine street died Tuesday at 1 P M after a lingering illness due to tuberculosis. Battle Axe Case Skirmish Impacts Bayfield County Rail Line

Death of Mrs Brubaker Reported

County Agricultural Agent W E Brubaker received a telegram announcing his mother's sudden death. The family traveled from Madison to Ohio for the funeral, with the body to be moved from Madison to the old family home. The Brubakers had recently moved from Ohio and resided at the Easter cottage east of the city when illness led to hospital treatment.
