Bayfield county farmers were urged by Agricultural Agent W. E. Brubaker to file orders for the TNT allotment, which totals 35,000 pounds and is expected to be filled quickly. Orders are accepted as received until the quota is met, with TNT priced at 9 cents per pound plus freight from Barksdale.
John J. Fisher of Bayfield Wisconsin announces his candidacy for the Republican nomination for District Attorney. He pledges strict enforcement against intoxicating liquor traffic, support for the Women’s Suffrage Amendment, and economical administration with no extra compensation beyond salary. He asks Bayfield voters for support at the September primary.
Christianson pastor announces Sunday services at 16:30 with Sunday School at 9:30. English service at Four Mile Creek at 2:30. Prayer meeting Thursday evening.

The Chequamegon Bay Historical Pageant will be staged in Ashland on August 26 and 27 under the American Legion post auspices. Local residents will perform in an outdoor, twilight pageant in a natural amphitheatre beside Northland College, with expert writers and pantomists guiding the scenes of regional history. Thousands from surrounding towns are expected to attend and a homecoming celebration is planned to draw old timers back for the pageant week.
Jake Yderstad of Kelly filed nomination papers in Ashland for the Republican nomination for Member of the Assembly. He was in the city Tuesday to complete the filing.
Business houses close for the Washburn Merchants annual outing at Salmo. Cars leave at nine with hundreds traveling to the grounds. A noon dinner with free ice cream and lemonade awaits attendees. Afternoon sports include a ball game and continuous activities.

Bordeaux mixture sprays can still save fields. farmers mix copper sulfate and lime, and arsenate of lead is used to control potato beetles.

Coroner Amos M Hansen and Surveyor Winfield E Tripp with no opposition noted for some. Democrats and Socialists will not have full tickets.
T F Mackmiller of Iron River arrived late last week to oversee cement work on the Chequamegon Creamery project in Iron River. Foundation was completed Tuesday, blocks delayed but resumed yesterday, with a ten day target to finish cement work before carpenters complete the structure. Roy Jackson will lead carpentry and the firm plans to install the latest butter making machinery for a modern creamery in the region.

Weldon Hertzog four, son of Mr and Mrs Frederick Hertzog of Loveland farm Four Mile Creek road, died Sunday from flu complications. Funeral Tuesday at two with Rev Christianson presiding, Rev Davis absent. Interment Woodland cemetery. Family and city mourn his loss.

George R. Moore narrowly escaped serious injury when his new Studebaker collided with a passenger train at the Green crossing on the Ashland Washburn road yesterday morning. A young man riding with Moore helped him to safety before the vehicle was severely damaged and thrown against a fence post. Moore suffered bruises and shock but was later taken home for rest.
A. G. Beckman's fine barn on State Trunk Highway 24 near Mason burned to the ground last Thursday night during a severe electrical storm. Fifty tons of hay, several horses, and much machinery were lost with little insurance. The blaze was seen for miles, and a nearby Benoit barn is also reported destroyed.
