Suit Against Coal Dealers in Ashland Restraint of Trade Alleged
Madison dispatch reports Attorney General Walter C. Owen filed suit in Ashland Circuit Court accusing several coal companies and dealers including C. Reiss Coal, Clarkson Coal and Dock, Pittsburgh and Ashland Coal and Dock, Chequamegon Ice, Frank O Tarbox A A McDonnell and Geo W Miars of forming a trust to restrain trade and fix prices. The suit seeks 3000 dollars from each defendant plus costs, and alleges an agreement with Superior and Duluth dock operators to block shipments to Bayfield and Douglas counties.

One Killed Two Hurt In Plant Accident
A derailment on a DuPont company narrow gauge railway at Barksdale caused the death of William Nelson of New Richmond and injuries to Jack Boyle of Queen City and Harold Isaacson of Illinois. The other riders escaped by jumping. Nelson’s head was crushed and his leg severed. The injured were taken to Ashland hospital. recovery expected.

Mystery Man Killed by Train Near Marengo Water Tank
An unknown tall man with a missing leg and crushed remains was struck and killed by a Duluth South Shore passenger train about a mile west of the Marengo water tank yesterday morning. He wore a mackinaw and rubbers. no identification was found. Coroner Sollie of Ashland will hold the body at the Sollie Morgue pending identification. The man is believed to have been demented.
