Blacksmith narrowly escapes attack by foreign assailant
A Finlander, employed at Rust Owen Lumber camps, attempted to kill a blacksmith in Drummond on Wednesday evening. The attacker wielded a double bladed axe but fled after the blacksmith dodged the blow. The blacksmith and hotel keeper Frazer reported injuries. the assailant was pursued by locals, caught after a three mile chase, and jailed in Drummond awaiting Washburn trial. The incident prompted district attorney scrutiny and continued investigation.
