Assemblyman Thompson introduces Assembly Bill No. 272 A to cap hours in dynamite factories at 48 per week and 8 per day. Exemptions apply only in extraordinary emergencies where life or property is in imminent danger. Violations incur a fine.
North Wisconsin Teachers Association to gather in Ashland on March 1 and 2 with S A Oscar sending programs. Noted speakers include Mayor Burt Williams Ashland and educators from Superior Ironwood Madison and Shell Lake. Ashland schools will provide music and class exercises. Seven year old Hermitage Ave Tastrait sht at the Arcade.
E. J. Delwiche of the state University Northern Sub-stations was in town Saturday to begin preparations for a farmers meeting scheduled for mid next month. The session will cover soil treatment and practical farming methods, with Delwiche sharing his field experience from northern state experiments. Commercial club officers are handling the advertising and all farmers are urged to attend.
A letter from John C. Dietz of Eau Claire Wisconsin dated February 1 reports possible trouble near Cameron dam as a lumber company may attempt a pre spring coup. He notes two men on snowshoes took possession of vacant camps, while his family remains healthy. A local concert at the Congregational church drew large crowds with Miss Josephine Retz and Miss Dorothy Nehrbas receiving praise for readers, violin and singing. A Chicago advertiser seeks local sales help offering SIGOGS pay.
