Mrs. Margoria M. Clausen wife of L N Clausen died Monday at 6 30 am after a month long illness with pleuro pneumonia. She was 45 years old born in Canada and leaves a husband a daughter a sister and two brothers. Funeral services were held at the family home with Rev Rhem of the Congregational church. burial followed in the city cemetery. City business closed during the funeral hour in tribute.

New Indiana District Appoints Landraint To Lead Tax Office
William Landraint, the new supervisor of inconvest for Ashland Bayfield and Iron counties, returned from Madison after attending a meeting of 39 assessors. He says 37 attended and the tax commission issued instructions on the new income tax law. Individuals with 800 dollars or more income, and married couples with 1200 dollars, must pay. Exemptions include 200 dollars per child and other deductions for taxes paid elsewhere. Ninety percent of collections go to city and county, ten percent to the state for collecting costs.
