Buried With Military Honors in Calvary Cemetery
The body of Fred E. Arseneau, a World War I veteran, was returned from St Nazaire, France, to Beaver Bay, Wisconsin, and given full military honors at St. Louis Catholic Church and Calvary Cemetery. Survived by parents Mr. and Mrs. Frank Arseneau and sisters, he died aboard the President Grant on October 6 1918 after contracting a fever at sea while en route to overseas service.

County Holstein Breeders Meet to Boost Bayfield County
The Bayfield County Holstein Breeders held a Jan 27 meeting in Washburn to plan a countywide membership drive and upcoming May bull sale. Officers include Mhoralf Yderstad president, Ed Carlson vice president in Ashland district, and C W Smith secretary. Delegates to Madison were chosen and committees named for Cable, Ashland, Mason, Washburn, Port Wing, and Bayfield communities.

Mrs. George Waters Dead at Mendota Hospital
Former Mellen resident and wife of Rev. George Waters, ex pastor of the Congregational church here, died at Mendota hospital in Madison early this week. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Mellen with interment in the local cemetery. The community extends sympathy to the bereaved husband.

Alderman Gray Dies After Paralytic Stroke
Alderman Frank W. Gray, 63, died Sunday after a paralytic stroke suffered over six weeks earlier. Funeral Wednesday from his residence with Rev. Chr. Christiansen officiating. Interment in Woodland cemetery. Gray served thirty years in the city, was with Metropolitan Life and Wisconsin Casualty, and represented the third ward for two terms. He left a wife and an adopted daughter.
