J. D. Smith Dies at Houghton Home at Seventy Eight
J D Smith died at his house in Houghton early last Thursday after briefly recovering from blood poisoning. He was eighty seven last July and had lived in Houghton for seventeen years. A former Ontario resident and longtime postmaster, he was beloved for his kindness and community service. Funeral services were held Sunday at his residence with Rev J E Cooke of the Methodist church officiating.
