Senator Dwight M. Sabin Dies in Chicago at 61
Former Minnesota United States Senator Dwight M. Sabin died suddenly in his hotel room at the Auditorium annex Chicago on December 28. Born April 25, 1843 in Manlius Illinois Sabin served in the War of the Rebellion and entered politics as Minnesota state senator before succeeding William Windom in the U S Senate. He promoted river and railroad improvements and remained active in lumber and iron business after leaving office. The report notes a prior marriage and wealth once estimated at ten million dollars.
