Old Settlers Picnic Set for Washburn Thursday
Washburn prepares for the Old Settlers Picnic and first Homecoming to be held Thursday August 14 with a citywide holiday proclaimed by Mayor H H Peavey. A noon parade led by the City Band will form to the picnic grounds east of the pumping station followed by lunch, speeches, music, and a Washburn versus Ashland and Bayfield Old Settlers baseball game. An evening Old Settlers dance at the Opera House will cap the day with residents urged to bring baskets and friends.

Male applicants must be medically examined 15 days before applying. physician fee is 3 dollars. Disputes go to the state hygienic laboratory.
