County board holds harmonious meeting re-elects chair and approves road funding
The county board met at the courthouse last Monday in a harmonious session. Chairman Tomkins was re-elected unanimously. Key actions include a $1500 appropriation for road construction from Bell road to four mile creek road with commissioners named, an $800 repair allotment for a Sioux River bridge, and other road and bridge funding.

Ironwood Ashland and Mellen are among rivals with judges from Duluth Lake Nebagamon Rhinelander and Hawthorne. Local residents Mr and Mrs Harry Boushard arrive from Duluth to settle this summer.
