At Washburn annual town meeting about 250 citizens approved the current salaries: town chairman $600, two supervisors $400 each, and town clerk $900. The meeting adopted sewer and street improvements, limited gambling, and ordered police reports on gambling twice monthly. A $21,500 school appropriation was cut to $16,000 with other allocations approved, and cows banned from streets.
