Kosciusko Pomona grange held its monthly gathering at Mound Prairie hall with solid attendance. After a noon feast, a short literary program followed by a discussion on rural telephones concluded with a committee formed to study feasibility of rural lines. Members include John McGinley, M. Ross, Wm. Zinninger, Wesley Stafford, Geo. L. Wable, Abe Brubaker, B. A. Hildenbrand and others. The next meeting is set for Eagle Lake grange on May 29.

Obituary of Mathew Taggart Dated 1902 South Bend
Mathew Taggart died Saturday April 19 1902 in South Bend Indiana. Born October 26 1823 in Wayne County Ohio he moved to Kosciusko County Indiana in 1843 and settled at Etna Green later relocating to a Sidney Jackson Township farm about ten years ago. He sold the farm last year and moved to South Bend to be near his sons who operate a business there. He was known for strong energy in business and public life.

Death of Carl H Blackford at 27 in Kansas City
Carl H Blackford youngest son of E S Blackford of this city died at his sister Mrs Stephen Walton home in Kansas City Missouri last Saturday morning of tuberculosis at age 27. He had been ill since November and recently fell seriously ill in Denver where employed by an engraving company. He came to his sister to be cared for arriving four days before death. The death is a heavy blow to his aged father and many friends. The remains were brought home Sunday evening by the Pennsylvania railroad. Funeral Wednesday at the South Detroit street residence with interment in Oakwood cemetery.
