General Brett Dies After Short Illness at Capital
Briga dier General Lloyd M. Brett retired died at Walter Reed hospital in Washington after returning from Pittsburgh where he attended the Eightieth Division reunion. Born February 22 1856 in Dead River Missouri he graduated from West Point in 1879 and won the Medal of Honor for actions near O Pallon's Creek Montana on April 1 1880. He received the Distinguished Service Medal for World War I service and decorations from France including Officer of the Legion of Honor and Croix de Guerre with palm. The Eightieth Division planned his funeral and honored him at the recent convention.
