Injury ends in death of local ball player Santo Rocco
Santo Rocco, 28, popular athlete with Struthers-Wells pickup team, died at Warren General Hospital Monday night after injuries from a ball game two weeks earlier. He collapsed at the Fair Grounds after a Veterans of Foreign Wars event, was operated on, and later died. Survived by parents, six siblings, and four brothers. He was a St. Joseph parishioner and Jr Holy Name Society vice president, played for St. Joseph Cadet baseball and team football. Funeral arrangements incomplete Tuesday.
