Arrest plane pilot as result of crash near Greensburg
In Salem township near Greensburg two girls were injured in a September 30 plane crash piloted by 89 year old Charles Stanko of East Pittsburgh. State patrolmen arrested him on charges of violating aeronautics law for stunting flying without a license and operating a nonregistered plane. He was jailed in Westmoreland County.

Shader sentenced to death for warden’s killing at Hingis state prison
Joliet October 10 Charlie’s Shader, 21, was executed at Will County jail for taking part in a prison breakout at Hingis State Penitentiary two years ago in which Warden Peter Klein was killed. The trap was sprung at 603 AM and Shader was pronounced dead shortly after.
