The New Bedford strike ends as 27 000 workers vote to accept a 11 percent wage cut. Despite weeks of disruption, 55 mills across 26 companies will reopen Monday with payroll losses totaling about 15 million dollars and 2 621 186 spindles and 50 607 looms affected. Loom fixers led the pro compromise vote 286 to 248, while unions overall approved the plan.

Six Thousand Awarded in Trooper John L Marshall Death
