Decoyed in car and robbed by two men near Pittsburgh

Frank Morton of Greenville Pa was lured into a motor car on the pretext of inspecting a painting contract and driven toward Bridgeville where he was robbed of 66 dollars by two men. After the crime, the pair abandoned him on the road. Morton told detectives he met the suspects in a saloon at Second avenue and Grant street.

Tax collector Thomas T. Thomas killed crossing railroad

In Wilkes-Barre on May 20, Thomas T. Thomas, county tax collector, was found dead near a grade crossing at Rita. Authorities believe a flat tire caused him to stop on the Jersey Central crossing and a train struck him. his car remained undamaged. He left a widow and two children.

Mail Plane Ready for “Lucky” If He Wants It

Washington May 25 Lindbergh, who once carried the mail, may return to aid duty if he desires. Postmaster General New said in Paris that Lindbergh could have anything in the shop and that he might again pilot the airmail. Whether the service will lure him back is uncertain as he contemplates the Parle flight and night routes. Lindbergh could earn about 36 000 a year as an airmail pilot.

Fascist Aviator Believed Safe After Sea Incident

United Press reports Col. Prantesea De Pinedo, the Italian aviator of the Santa Maria, was forced down at sea near the Azores. The seaplane was sighted off Fayal in tow of the schooner Infante Sagres and was being taken toward Horta. A wireless dispatch said De Pinedo was being towed toward Fayal but needed assistance. gunboats and a steamer reported sightings as rescue efforts continued. The Santa Maria was expected to arrive at Fayal in tow, refuel, and fly on if repairs were minor.
