Eight Hundred Acres Swept By Forest Fires Near Tidioute

Forest fires near Tidioute burned over eight hundred acres of underbrush on Thursday. About fifty forest firefighters under Rowland worked to contain the blaze, which was under control by midnight but continued into Friday. MessengER Boy Hit by Hit-and-Run

James Moser a Warren Postal Telegraph messenger boy was struck by a motorist in a Thursday afternoon hit-and-run at Market street and Fifth avenue. He was thrown to the sidewalk with a dislocated shoulder a cut knee and injuries to a hand. He reported to be on the streets Friday. He lives at 300 Pennsylvania avenue east.

Forest Fire Controlled After Sweeping 900 Acres

The worst forest fire in this section this season was brought under control today after burning over 900 acres of timber along south Sandy Creek eight miles west of here. About sixty men under Game Warden Herbert Beatty and around a score of Boy Scouts fought the blaze for the past 24 hours.
