War, socialism, and new tech reshape 1920s thinking
The piece argues that plagues from Asia and fears of Russian use of Canadian horses push trade and diplomacy decisions. It contrasts social welfare ideas with wages, predicts cavalry obsolescence in modern warfare, and notes Britain’s swift armored chasers capable of breaking heavy horse forces. It highlights air mail and rapid transport as time savers, and cites Standard Oil’s costly air endeavors.
