Pittsburgh June 18 A man named Charles Boggus died fighting a blaze to save two horses from the burning stable of Frank Slater in Ben Avon. His charred body was found near the stable door after the fire was put out. The horses also died. Charles Chapman 65 who lived above the stable escaped by leaping from a second story window. Boggus reentered the stairs attempting rescue.
Lieut Daniel F Rogers and Trooper Alfred K Larsen of the New Jersey state police were found guilty of manslaughter in the death of Beatrice Meaney during an all night siege at a farm home. Several hundred shots were fired and tear gas bombs used. Twelve other troopers and two SPCAL agents were acquitted. Meaney lived with her brothers James and Timothy, who were wounded.

The Baltimore and Ohio Railroad applied to the Interstate Commerce Commission for authority to issue 53,242,500 of common stock. Proceeds would reduce 10 year six percent bonds maturing July 1, 1929 and more. Stockholders may subscribe at 107.50 a share for 80 percent of June 20 1927 holdings.

In Altoona, David M. Mack 26 died from injuries after a June 1 automobile wreck. charges of driving while intoxicated and larceny were filed against Laeman.

New York June 18 United Press notes that Lindbergh and Chamberlin Levine flights spurred aviation growth. M Bellanca, designer of the Colombia monoplane, helped found a new aircraft company, and a Ryan Aircraft official said 29 planes akin to Lindberghs Spirit of St Louis have been ordered by Americans.
Marshal Chang Tso-Lin, the most powerful militarist in China, was inaugurated today as civil and military dictator of the north with headquarters in Peking. The ceremony occurred at the presidential palace and he later received John V. A. MacMurray, the United States minister, and other diplomats at the foreign office.
Army Fokker aircraft will carry Lieuts Lester Maitland and Albert St. Hemenberger from San Antonio toward El Paso around noon today en route to San Francisco then Hawaii. The pilots depart to join a Hawaii flight origin.
Pj Mis Jouis Payson of Youngstown Ohio repeated her success by winning the annual women's invitation tournament at Allegueny Country Club. Payson shot 85 today to beat Virginia Van Weis of Chicago who had 86 for the two rounds. Van Weis had a sensational day with a course record 77 after a rough start yesterday.
United States envoy Hugh S. Gibson leads the American delegation at Geneva as the naval limitation conference opens with most delegates on site. France and Italy send observers while Japan and Britain prepare to submit detailed proposals, and the US plans general discussion without a concrete plan.
The United States plans a 5-5-3 auxiliary ship ratio with Britain and Japan, maintaining a 10,000 ton cruiser limit and 8- inch gun standard. Ambassador Hugh Gibson will present the general proposals at the Geneva conference opening, with formal specifics and policy instructions to follow.
