A J Hazeltine prominent Warren resident died at 2 40 p m Saturday at his home 710 Pennsylvania Ave West after a long illness traced to last Thanksgiving He led Warren Savings Bank and Trust Co serving as president and later as board president He also held director roles at Conneango Furniture Warren Veneer and Panel Co and Corry Brick and Tile Co He is survived by two sons Dr Harold Hazeltine of Cambridge University England Hugh V Hazeltine of Warren two daughters Mrs William B Lynde of Buffalo and Mrs Francis M Caughey of Warren and three grandchildren Georgine Hazeltine Milton H Caughey and Jane H Caughey His wife and daughter were en route home from England expected to land Sunday.

Harrisburg reports Karl H Bergey treasurer of the Lewistown Trust Company was arrested on charges of misapplication of bank funds and false entries. A state banking department examiner uncovered a $25,000 shortage in his accounts. Bergey is held under a $20,000 bond awaiting court.
