A Detroit test flight by Harry Brooks in a small air machine nicknamed Ford's Flying Fliv ended without completing the non stop trip to Miami in fourteen hours. Brooks carried 48 balloons of gasoline and a quart of water with no food, while bearing the risks of early aviation and questions about safety and practicality.

Fire extinguished at Frigidaire Service on gasoline blaze
Central and Centennial fire crews answered Friday afternoon to a small fire at Frigidaire Sales and Service in Peterson block 601 Pennsylvania Avenue East. The blaze began when gasoline ignited on the floor and was put out by 2 PM. County Commissioners Brady Stewart and Olney will hold a tax appeal hearing in Russell Monday for Pinegrove Elk and Farmington townships. The commissioners were in Columbus Friday on a similar mission. Judge D A Arird left Friday morning for Philadelphia to hold court and is not expected to return until Monday.
