Four year old shoots mother then menaces coroner
In Chambersburg on April 13 a four year old named Tommy Ruby shot his mother with a .22 revolver after she refused him permission to play with matches. He then attempted to stab Franklin County coroner Shull during questioning. He grabbed a butcher knife but was disarmed. The mother died from the neck wound while a neighbor, and the infant brother slept nearby. The boy soon wandered to a school telling his sister of the shooting as authorities described him with alarming criminal-like traits.
