Area high school football opens weekend action in Warren County
Three of four Warren County teams begin play this weekend with Sheffield meeting Warren Reserves at 3:45 pm tomorrow, and Warren Dragons at War Memorial Field facing Corry Beavers at 1:30 pm Saturday. Youngsville hosts Lawrence Park, while Northern Knights have no game. Two injured players from Tuesday’s practice, Jim Wick with a broken nose and Dick Sorenson with a concussion, are expected to be ready. Merchants of the Warren Area Chamber back the Dragons with ticket sales and a pep rally. Also announced are KOFC Sports Night Dinner invitations for Groat Friend King, with Northwestern athletic director Stu Holcomb and other sports figures set to appear.
