Safety Patrol Founder Recalls Early Sheffield Squads
Wayne Chamberlain, founder of Lincoln School safety patrols in Sheffield, recalls starting the program in 1925 amid traffic hazards from new roads to Kane and the Sheffield Warren line. He notes growth to 40–50 members, AA A support, bugle calls, and a drum and bugle corps, with patrols now in their thirtieth year and both boys and girls on duty.

Sheffield Safety Patrol Parade Memory in Washington
The Sheffield safety patrol was the sole unit in Washington in May 1939 to provide its own music for its march. It was the second and last patrol from Sheffield to visit Washington, the first having gone in May 1933. Plans to return every three years were halted by World War II, during which several pictured boys died in service.
