Induction into National Junior Honor Society at Beaty
Beaty Junior High held an assembly last Friday to induct nine ninth graders and eleven eighth graders into the National Junior Honor Society. Dr. Carl E. Whipple and Henry Powell attended along with student participants and the program highlighted the life of Dr. Elizabeth Beaty.

Beardsley Receives Benjamin Rush Award At Warren Hospital Tea
Mrs Edna A Beardsley was honored with the Benjamin Rush Award by The Medical Society of Pennsylvania during a tea at Warren General Hospital. Dr Julius Fine presented the plaque as thanks for long service. Principal speaker for Warren High’s 82nd commencement will be Dr Don McGary of Penn State. Approximately 265 graduates will receive diplomas on Beaty lawn June 14. Baccalaureate for class of 1959 set May 31 at Grace Methodist Church with Rev Reed J Hurst as speaker. Ground breaking for the Warren Area Joint High School marked by officials including C C Winans and Melvin G Keller. The new school cost three million dollars. The Warren Dragon Band provided selections.
