New Lake Proposed Near Conneaut Lake Area
A 550 acre lake will be created about five miles southeast of Conneaut Lake with a 6 12 mile shoreland. Construction on dam and spillway starts this summer and should finish in fall funded by the Game Commission and Highways Department, with three quarters of capital from the U S Fish and Wildlife Service. The project eliminates swampland and aids waterfowl hunting with two water level gates and a refuge. Nearby Pymatuning reservoir draws tens of thousands for photography, hunting, and study. Also noted is a taxon on wild animal skin sales yielding 2781 dollars from muskrats and other furbearers. Hal Brennett will leave WNAE after June 28.
