Warren council reviews bids for fire dept and flood control

The Warren borough council discussed new bids for fire department personnel and flood control projects on Glade Run. It reviewed parking meter bids from Duncan Miller in Chicago and two street project bids from Erie and Meadville firms. The panel asked for state funding to pave Second and Franklin and approved various staff and civic matters.

Gail Wyman elected state FHA president at Penn State

Gail Wyman, reelected Warren Chapter president and former county president, was elected state Future Homemakers of America president at the annual convention at Pennsylvania State University. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Wyman of 4 Myrtle Street and won first place in the state essay contest. Warren chapter advisor Mrs. Robert Whitehill received an honorary degree for her outstanding role in promoting the state.

Warren Chamber Reaches 500th Membership Milestone

The Warren Area Chamber of Commerce surpasses its two year goal of 500 members with member number 500, Donald Guiher of Guiher's Glade Keystone Service receiving the plaque. Attendees include Chamber President William Walker Membership Chairman Weston Ensworth and EVP Charles R. Tranter.
