FTC actions curb deceptive ads and misrepresentations
The Federal Trade Commission orders Vitasafe Corp to stop deceptive free trial ads for vitamin capsules and bans misrepresentation by the Commercial Travelers Mutual Accident Association, Tanner’s Shoe Co and others. It targets inflated claims, underdelivered benefits, and false consumer savings on pre cut houses. Pipeline costs and gas rate shifts may raise household bills this fall.
