Postal cost rise looms with budget plan and rate changes
The Presidents budget proposes legislation to raise postal revenues by 350 million dollars and end free or reduced rates for some groups. The 1955 deficit was 362 million, expected to jump to 440 and 470 million in 1956 and 1957, still leaving a shortfall near 100 million.
