Bathurst to retire as Warren High principal
Warren high school principal Floyd W. Bathurst will retire at term end after serving since 1926. Joseph Passaro will become acting principal at the close of the school year, with Passaro having joined Warren in 1946 and serving as assistant principal since 1951.

Joseph Passaro, elected acting principal at Warren High during the Warren Joint Area meeting, joined Warren in 1946 as business education instructor and football coach. He advanced to guidance counselor in 1947 and assistant principal in 1951, holds BS and MA from Duquesne University, with additional study at NYU and Syracuse. He chairs the social committee of the Warren Borough Teachers Association and serves as secretary and treasurer of District Ten, Section Two football league, and is active in local professional groups. The Passaros have a son Tim who attends Jefferson School.
