Windtoppled wall of gutted G G Greene building causes fuel spill
A strong wind toppled the north wall of the G G Greene building at Lexington Avenue and Irvine Street. The shell from a December 17 fire ruptured a Sterling Oil gasoline tank, releasing 5650 gallons and a foot of fuel on the ground. Fire hazard and monitoring followed for hours as Segel and Son razed the site. Ethyl remained in another tank. the former Warren Mirror Works occupation is noted.
