Warren Borough Council Reaffirms Millage Increase Plan
After two hours of debate the Warren borough council pursued a three mill increase by creating a permanent street improvement fund and placing new money into it. The plan totals about 24 1/2 mills with allocations for general funds debt retirement street lighting and library pensions. The meeting also saw resignations and replacements among firemen and steps to protect street projects and property, plus a citizenship award at Beaty Jr high school.

Warren Areas School Board Sees $593 650 Budget for 1956 57
The Warren Area Joint School Board proposed a 1956 57 budget totaling 593 650 72 with about 30 000 more than this year to fund two extra Beaty teachers one at the high school and higher janitor pay while other costs stay near prior levels. The board awaits Harrisburg on salary schedules and reimbursements before final approval and plans to revisit the budget at the April 16 meeting.
