Homer Haines demonstrated the new communication system to a Warren borough committee including George Geracimos and William Rice. The plan equips one fire truck at each station and the chief’s car with radios, with the central Third Avenue station controlling county volunteer contact by telephone.
Mary Maier earns first class license and serves as assistant engineer at Warren Central station. The upgraded system links the fire department sheriff station and utility lines via Bell Telephone special wires with support from Warren County Commissioners and Civil Defense Council under W C Fuellhart. The modernization coordinates Warren fire fighters and expands broadcasting range.
