The Allegheny River rose to 18.5 feet a new high this century flooding Warren hospital. Patients are evacuated as petitions to officials for river control and a dam linger. Dikes could have been raised last summer to protect the hospital and surrounding areas.
Partners Dan Dodge and Orrie Beebe began erecting the Penn Laurel Motel in the 700 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. When finished the L shaped complex will house 42 units a 200 seat dining room and a lounge.
