Warren State Hospital develops 1959 Christmas plans to reach its 3,000 patients while 1,500 have had no visitors in five years and 900 lack spending money. Volunteer Services under Mrs. John C. Urbaitis spearheads efforts to involve Mental Health Associations and regional groups across 13 northwestern Pennsylvania counties.
Tonight the Warren Rotary Club celebrates its 40th with a 6 30 dinner at the North Warren Community House. District Governor Larry Heddens and other guests attend as part of a busy program including a Variety Show for Warren State Hospital patients at 7 30 and a Beta Sigma Phi meeting at 8.
Mercer County Mental Health Association plans a mammoth December 12 auditorium party for 345 patients and guests. The Erie Morning News and Erie Daily Times sponsor the annual Variety Show with Bill King as MC. Northwestern Pennsylvania counties served include Cameron Clarion Clearfield Crawford Elk Jefferson Erie Forest Mercer McKean Venango and Warren.
