The article argues expanding the current site to house a high school would be very costly. The final cost depends on which properties are acquired, with skyrocket potential if the entire block is bought. Buying neighboring buildings or the whole block would still likely be expensive, though the state would cover nearly half the cost.
An extensive and beautiful Blair home sits off the southeast corner of the high school property. The former center of the block is now a garden spot belonging to private citizens.
Warren borough council decides lower Market street paving will be funded by Nelson and Ellberg beneficiaries after buying the street. Ray Reed and Treat Davidson named to planning commission replacing James Frantz and Maurice Emery. Emery chairs finance. Frantz to public service and sewage committee. Bids to be sought for Hill and McPherson sanitary sewers.
A large parcel south of the high school behind the adjacent apartment building could extend the school grounds by a few square feet, including a garage on the property.
