Warren Track Opens Season With Triangular Meet
Warren high school track starts its season on April 20 at Beaty cinders against Corry and Youngsville. Coach Loyal Briggs boasts many newcomers, with Anthony Cosmano out for the season after an appendix operation. Starters include Mahaffey in the 100, Stewart and Schuler in the 440, Duell Schuler Harrington in the 880, and Morley Simonsen Mohney English in field events. Youngsville shows fast dash talent led by Dick Wood, while Corry is a secret threat if speed carries over from football. Training during Easter recess is advised. Warren also plans a three day YMCA gymnastic tryout for boys nine and older April 26–29.
