Fire destroys large Marienville department store
A two story brick department store owned by David Mintz in Marienville Forest county was wiped out by fire at 8 am Tuesday. Loss estimated at 50000 with 20000 on the building and 320000 on stock. Insurance about 30000. Marienville lacks fire protection except chemical engines and saved little. The nearby Marineville Express office suffered about 200 in damage. Mortgageing notes and feed stock valued at 1000 were saved. This was the town’s largest store and a major local loss.
