In Clearfield County Pennsylvania the trial of Romire Lemire for the July 4 1904 murder near Coalport ended with a not guilty verdict and Lemire held on 1000 bail for involuntary manslaughter which was not in the indictment prompting question about pretrial detention for acquitted defendants.
The case of the Commonwealth versus Harry Webb at the latest Criminal Court sessions sparked wide county discussion. The indictment listed murder and voluntary manslaughter with no involuntary manslaughter count, leaving jurors to decide between first or second degree murder or voluntary manslaughter, a verdict that surprised many.

The Smiley store is closed by Sheriff Brown with an auction next Monday. The Warren area marks a golden wedding, and a Warren County Fish and Game Association meeting is announced for Sept 24. Deeds and quitrent notices are advertised.
The Training School of Warren State Hospital graduated its second class of nurses on September 15. Names include Misses Anna Matilda Anderson and Dora Monica Brannon along with 11 others. Dr. George I. MacLeod delivered an address, followed by diplomas from Dr. Guth and class pins by Miss Hanna D. Shipley.
