Town Council approves street grade and bond ordinances
At the regular meeting last Monday the council ordered payment of bills and passed first readings for grade lowering on Market Street tracks and for Fourth Street grades. A bond increase of 20000 dollars for Market Street paving was approved, two new East Side streets from Penn's Avenue to Lexington Street were authorized, and later the grade ordinance and the 20000 dollar bond ordinance gained second reading. Major William Martin was appointed weigh-master of the borough day-scales, and part of the Island was added to the fire limits before adjournment to meet again.
