Captain G P Davis collector of Internal Revenue in this district died at Erie on the 7th instant after a year of consumption. He served bravely in the war and was a faithful officer and esteemed citizen. Cal C M Lynch of Erie has been appointed to succeed him. Lynch also served in the war and is described as a thorough Republican and a fit successor.

The September Grand Jury for Warren County Pennsylvan ia reports a five member committee found the Rouse Hospital and connected farm in satisfactory condition.
